Twenty Ten
January 1, 2010
It’s a new year…a new decade, and we’re excited about a lot of new (and recurring) offerings here at Bloodworth Photography.
We’ve been very busy with our usual end-of-year sessions, and now we are preparing the studio for 2010. We’re doing a bit of remodeling. We appreciate the patience of those who have been to the studio lately, as we have portraits off the walls and furniture moved around, but we’re getting there.
We’re doing a bit of cyber-remodeling too, as we’re updating our website, our Facebook page and this blog. It is our hope to provide current and future customers with enough information online to help you prepare for your portraits. We ‘ll be listing here–and on Facebook–special promotions, offers and photos from recent sessions that you can share with your friends and family. If you’re a member of Facebook, look us up and become a fan so you’ll stay informed. Even if you’re not a Facebook regular, you can visit our page. We’re planning on sending out quarterly newsletters to customers, but will communicate more regularly (and more quickly) through our online outlets.
Special Events
We will also be offering special events throughout the year. We’ve done some of these in the past, and some are new. They’re a great way to capture fun moments as a family or of the kids. We’ll be doing “Daddy and Me” and “Mommy and Me” sessions for Fathers’ and Mothers’ Day. We’ll have our very-popular fairy sessions, tea party, locker room, and other fantasy sessions for girls and boys.
We’ll be celebrating the special bonds of family with our Generations sessions. Two, three, four (or more!) generations in one session is sure to become a treasured portrait. We’ll have special Pet portrait days, too. Look for Sports Fanatics Days — bring the whole family and show off your team’s colors. We’ll also have our Easter/Spring themes, sessions for Tweens and more opportunities for dress up!
Tot’s Day
Thursday is Tot’s Day for children three and under. Tot’s Day sessions are on a white background with one clothing change (and a variety of props–or bring your own). Tot’s Day session fees start at an unbeatable $20!!
Baby’s First Year Panel Still FREE after all these years!
We started our Baby’s First Year panel program over 20 years ago, and it continues to be extremely popular. As always, we photograph baby at three, six, nine and twelve months (or four, eight and twelve) and upon completion you receive a FREE panel ready for framing! Call the studio for details. We have more frames and styles available than ever before.
NEW for 2010! The Series.
We’re excited about a new offering this year: The Series! Your child is photographed once a year for three years. Three 5×5 images are included in one montage and framed. You’ll be amazed how much your child really changes! Available at any age! Call for details.
Seniors!
High School seniors, we haven’t forgotten about you! When you get back to school next week, you’ll be amazed how quickly your senior year sails by. If you haven’t had your senior sessions yet, it’s not too late! We also have fun and creative, personalized graduation announcements and thank you notes available.

Then and Now…
November 6, 2009
We’ve had some great sessions this week. It’s always fun to see what interesting ideas customers come up with for their photos.
The Joneses, long-time customers who have since moved out-of-state, made a special trip on their way back from New York to photograph their six year old son. Like his three older brothers before him, he was photographed at the age of six in the same outfit (that Mom has kept stored away), with the same set in basically the same pose by the same photographer, Mr. George. We searched the vaults and found negatives from the 1999 sessions and scanned them for a side by side comparison. They’re not exactly the same, though the photographs do capture each of the boy’s personalities. Kudos to mom for some serious planning ahead.

and today!
Another “then and now” story unfolded this week. The Wests had a portrait done of their two sons and 10-year-old Golden Lab, Penny. The Wests have been great customers over the years. The Wests brought Penny into the studio when she was a puppy, for a session with the boys, and Penny just wanted to lie on the floor. So, the boys joined her. Again, we dug into the archives for this ten-year-old shot.

We really appreciate the loyalty of our customers and are glad that they keep coming back! This week, we also photographed a one-year-old for her baby panel whose mom we also photographed as a baby. We’d post those “then and now” shots, but we’d really have to dig into the archives for those!
Our First Post
November 2, 2009
This is our first blog entry. We are working hard to make our blog and our website a fun and informative place for customers and friends to visit, view photos from recent sessions and learn about upcoming promotions here at the studio.
This is a very busy time for us. We are finishing up senior photo sessions and are getting orders out to students. We have just photographed underclassmen (always a lot of fun) and are getting proofs out.
We are currently in the midst of holiday shooting. It seems one day it’s Halloween, the next day it’s Christmas! The year will be over before we know it.
There will be many exciting changes at Bloodworth Photography in the coming months. First, we’ve lured George out of retirement, and he is back in the studio! We are happy to have access to George’s amazing talent and experience while integrating fresh concepts in portrait photography.
We’re working to keep in better touch with our customers, through this blog, our Facebook page, webpage and newsletters. We’re putting together next year’s calendar of promotions, making it easier than ever to capture special moments. We’re also giving the studio a physical face lift (sorry to those of you who love teal). So bear with us through our renovations.
Because it matters…
